Tarpon also known as "Silver Kings" have survived since prehistoric times. Tarpon grow to more than 200 lbs. They have what are referred to as bucket sized mouths and their torpedo like jumps upon hooking them, makes for a great show when fishing for them. Tarpon feed on blue crabs, pilchards, shrimp and many other types of bait. You may see many tarpon rolling on the surface while fishing for them as they have an air bladder, which allows them to live in water that contains very little oxygen. The Boca Grande area is world famous for fabulous tarpon fishing. Tarpon make for a very exciting experience guaranteed to be one you will not soon forget.

Snook are one of the most sought after game fish in the world. Snook can grow up to over 60 lbs. Even the smallest of snook can put up a hard fight. Their aerodynamic shape provides a great fight for the angler. Their habitat includes the rivers, grass flats and beaches of Florida. They are known by the single dark lateral stripe that runs the entire length of their body. Snook are an extremely powerful and intelligent fish that make long runs and will land you in the mangroves if you're not careful. Warning snook fishing may be addictive!!

 

Redfish also known as "Bull Reds" fight like a bull hence their nickname.  Redfish can grow to over 100 lbs., but typically in our area the largest are 35 to 40 lbs.  Redfish have very powerful jaws which allow them to crack open oyster clams and crabs.  Their habitat includes the grass flats, beaches and passes of Florida.  You may see large herds of them "tailing" in the water while fishing for them as they are pushing bait up off the bottom. 

Trout also know as "Speckled Sea Trout" are beautiful fish, known by their colorful spots and rainbow like colors.  Trout can generally grow to over 13 lbs.  Their habitat includes the grass flats and passes of Florida.  Many children and adults love catching trout because there is usually a lot of action since the bag limits have been maintained.
